Gabriel Thomas Tugendstein

PhD Student in Philosophy, Florida State University

Hello There

I, owner of the face looming above, am in the PhD program in Florida State's Department of Philosophy. Broadly speaking, I am interested in how people — intentionally and unintentionally — choose to tell the story of their lives and place their faith in values despite a world of uncertainty. This leads me to areas of study like:

  • Moral Psychology (how and when to blame, to love, to forgive, etc)

  • The Philosophy of Cognitive Science (how to reconcile the way we talk about memory, imagination, and values with the 'hard science')

  • Identity (the ways in which people define themselves and how those definitions influence their behavior)

Here is a copy of my Curriculum Vitae. For more information on my work, check out the "Research" tab, or get in touch through the "Contact Me" tab.
